Local Natives Album Haiku

Album Haiku: Gorilla Manor by Local Natives

Dances through your ears…

Like, whimsical jungle rock.

Wish they were “local.”

5 out of 5

Songs we can’t take off repeat; “Stranger Things,” “Wide Eyes,” “Warning Sign,” and “Camera Talk.”

I wish they were local because I would love to hear the songs off of Gorilla Manor at our cool local venues every night. The opening song hooks you in and will keep you until the end. I love this album it flows beautifully and is fairly mellow but it will keep your feet moving. Or in my case, you will be singing along. It is one of the best albums to come out this year. I love the addition of the string instruments and the boy girl vocals. There are a lot of details to each song that make it whimsical, like paint your face and ballet dance in the living room whimsical. It’s perfect for a nice windy drive up to the lake! Must have album for 2010!
