Chuck Wicks

Chuck Wicks at the KIX 96 Studios on Tuesday, August 17th

Country artist Chuck Wicks had the ladies blushing at the KIX 96 Studios on Tuesday. His Australian friend who played acoustic guitar and had charming harmonies wasn’t helping either – just to hear him talk, whew! It was funny to see all the girls flock to Chuck then flock right over to I think his name was Reggie or Richie (I didn’t get the pleasure of meeting him).  Looks aside musically they complemented each other smoothly.  Chuck had the driest humor, I thought he was hilarious. However I am not sure all of the room got his humor. His personality was killer too, when I walked in to the room he was going around and shaking everyone’s hand. We had a full house, and he was first artists to play a long set on the KIX 96 stage which was awesome! Normally we get 3 to 4 songs with a few questions, I think he was up there for almost an hour!

Chuck played “All I Ever Wanted,” “Old School,” “Hold That Thought,” “Stealing Cinderella,” and few more tunes for all of us. We learned that the Cinderella in “Stealing Cinderella,” was a girlfriend he had who’s daytime job was to play Cinderella at Disney World. He told us his favorite video to shoot was “Hold That Thought,” because he got to make out with a hot lady a lot. That hot lady just so happens to be Leah Clearwater for all you Twilight fans! He played 1st base in college baseball and dropped out of school with 2 credits to go. He tried to finish the credits from Nashville but the school changed their curriculum so now it’s 6 and that’s too many for Chuck. Chuck grew up country with his dad on a farm, and his mom loved 80’s music. I think he’s a legit cowboy who has silky-smooth vocals and can swoon anyone over with a song.

Chuck had us laughing, singing along, and taking pictures for another hour! He was flexible, kind, and did not want to talk about Dancing with the Stars at all. Which is fine, he is a good dancer but I think he is a better musician.
