Secondhand Serenade at the KCDA Studios on Friday, August 27th
Well, I have never been to a more awkward afternoon concert. Ever! I don’t know if Secondhand Serenade has a weird sense of humor… or if they were having fun but they pretty much came off (more just the singer) like jerks. Sure the audience was afraid to ask questions, they were probably nervous but that doesn’t mean as an artist you can heckle them. It’s kind of your job to make a small talk too buddy.
John (Vocals, Guitar), Ryan (Guitar, Back Up Vocals), & Tom (Cajon “drum box”) did play three songs for us that sounded really good even though it’s not necessarily my cup of tea; the songs including “Something More,” and “Fall For You.” I was really impressed with Tom on the Cajon, he said he taught himself and it sounded really good. It’s such a cool instrument!
I am sure some of the people thought they were rude, some people thought they were funny, and maybe a few loved it. Either way it was an interesting afternoon. Does make me think that they deserved the beating in Boston, because of their smart ass mouths.
