Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Album Haiku

Album Haiku: Mojo by Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers

Blues and Rock N Roll

Austin Powers Will Love It

Petty Still Has It!

3 1/2 out of 5

Songs we can’t take off repeat; “Jefferson Jericho Blues,” “The Trip to Pirate’s Cove,” “First Flash of Freedom,” and “Something Good Coming.”

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers always make good albums and Mojo is no exception. From the opening chords of “Jefferson Jericho Blues” you know these guys are ready to show the world new songs and the entire album sounds like they are just hanging out in a room together recording and having a great time. The few new songs off Mojo sounded great live at the Gorge also. Tom Petty just seemed very excited to play new material, It’s been a while. My favorite song off of Mojo is “The Trip To Pirates Cove.” I just get sucked in by the catchy guitar and keyboards. I’m also a sucker for the slower Petty tunes.  All in all it is another Petty album that Petty fans will love and casual Petty listeners will like.
