Bush

Bush on Friday, September 16h at the Knitting Factory

I was very excited to have a girls night at the Bush concert, well because hello Gavin is such a hottie!!! Well he also has some really great songs too, but it took a few minutes to get over his lovely physique. The Knitting Factory was pretty well filled full of Bush fans all ready to sing along to hits such as “Glycerine” and “Machinehead.” Which threw me off a bit because I kind of spaced on how many hits Bush had… at least five or six. After seeing the show it made me go searching for “Sixteen Stone,” which is a rockin little album.

However back to the concert… the sound was incredible! Plus the band looked completely stoked to be in Spokane on a Friday night performing for a thousand or so people. It seriously seemed like they were genuinely happy to be here tonight, which was rad. Gavin worked it too, he looked like an 18 year old kid at one of his first big concerts… jumping around and putting all of his emotion into the songs. At one point in the night he even got off the stage walked through the crowd, ran up the stairs and rocked the balcony and the VIP… he danced with fans and even made it to the floor and got in the crowd. It was really cool; I don’t think I have ever seen an artist do that at the Knitting Factory. I guess I could say the energy was ALIVE AND KICKIN at the concert. Bush was extremely thankful for us all coming out and singing along. He even thanked the security guy in the front who not only made sure everyone was safe but also rocked out to his songs. I am sure that made the guys night!

Bush didn’t miss a beat on playing the songs we all wanted to hear too! We heard “Everything Zen,” “Little Things,” “Machinehead,” “Glycerine,” “Comedown,” “The Chemicals Between Us,” “Alien,” and “Swallowed.” Bush also played quite a few songs for us of their new album “The Sea of Memories” which was just released on Tuesday, September 13th including “All My Life,” “Afterlife,” “The Mirror of the Signs,” “All Night Doctors,” and “The Sound of Winter.” There was one cover in the mix tonight that happened to be performed during the encore and was awesome, it was a rocked out version of “Come Together” by the Beatles in which everyone sang along too.

It was a killer concert, a concert that stood out in the jumble of shows I have been too. I am glad I got to go, especially with a friend I don’t get to see much. Now “Sixteen Stone” is back into my iTunes rotation, which I guess is a good thing right? The concert rekindled my music love with Gavin and the boys of Bush.
