Carbon Leaf at Pig Out in the Park 2011 on Saturday, September 3rd
Matt got me hooked on Carbon Leaf, so it was fun to see the show together and sing along to their songs and even dance a smidge. Carbon Leaf has a “warm your heart” sound that can be described as rustic country notes mixed into their fun rock songs! These boys also have some honey harmonies and they always had smiles on their faces. Their music brought a good vibe to the Clock Tower Stage at Pig Out in the Park!
Matt has probably one of the coolest stories with this band, a long time ago he put together this promotion called the Carbon Leaf 500 where people won passes to go race the band at Fast Kart! The band, winners, and even the people working had a blast. Ever since then anytime Matt hears Carbon Leaf he talks about how much fun he had.
Carbon Leaf worked it for Pig Out in the Park and performed a handful of songs including “What About Everything,” “7 Brides for 7 Sinners,” “Let Your Troubles Roll By,” “Desperation Song,” “One Prairie Outpost,” “Torn & Tattered,” “Life Less Ordinary,” and a handful more. We heard a little harmonica action as well as the most dangerous guitar in the west! It was so cool to see the band play to a huge crowd in Spokane. I also enjoyed looking around and watching two best friends in the front and a dad with his two kids all singing along. It was a great way to spend such a nice night in Spokane!
On our way back I finally indulged and bought Deep Fried Oreos. So hot and gooey, I had four. Great treats and tunes are two things you will always find at Pig Out In the Park!
