Margaret Durante

By Andrea Williams

Margaret Durante at the KIX 96 Studio Lounge on Thursday, October 14th

Up and coming country doll Margaret Durante stopped by the KIX 96 Studio Lounge this afternoon for a quick three tunes and lunch. Margaret is out on the road spreading the word about herself and her music, we were lucky enough to catch and learn about Margaret today. Her warm smile lit up the room and she was very friendly. Margaret played “If Love Will Let Me,” “Paper Chain,” and “Mississippi Crying,” for a room full of country fans. She told us how one of the fun things about writing songs is turning a loser guy into a cool song, like she did in Paper Chain. The chorus in Paper Chain is almost impossible to not sing along too; and it’s a song I think a lot of girls can relate to. Margaret has deep vocals that are still very light and feminine but definitely stand out among other country artists. Her last song for us was Mississippi Crying where she told us that this was the song that made her fall in love with writing and singing. It will be exciting to see Margaret grow in the country scene that is becoming bigger and bigger every day. I look forward to hearing her tunes on the radio soon very soon!
