Soulfly

Soulfly with Prong – The Knitting Factory Concert House – Monday, March 29th

A night of Metal sounds like a great way to start the work week. You get some aggression out, have drinks and yell real loud obscenities. Outside of the Tuesday hangover from one too many PBR Tall Cans (that you can now get in the Knitting Factory VIP) and Shots of Makers Mark it’s a great idea.

With that said it was the 1990’s all over again and Prong and Soulfly were performing in Spokane. Prong took the stage first and rocked. They brought there aggressive metal to the Knitting Factory. While the Knitting Factory was not that full everyone was moshing and having fun. They sounded great but we spent most of the time trying to figure out how many original members were in the band.

The Crowd went ballistic during “Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck”. Someone in the VIP Lounge was rockin’ out so hard that I thought he was going to fall out of the lounge 15 – 20 feet to the floor. I’m glad he didn’t I did not want to see someone die on this night. It was great to see Prong and cross them off my list.

Soulfly front man Max Cavalera took the stage with his usual bad ass looking Brazilian Flag Guitar and his band powered through over an hour long set that was full of Soulfly classics including “Eye For An Eye” that had the crowd singing every word.

Soulfly is a fantastic metal band that puts on a great live show that had the entire floor singing every word of every song, drinking tons, a few of them even smoking weed and moshing. The set that featured a couple of Supultura songs that the crowd went ape shit for.

It was an overall killer metal show that was complete with a Soulfly Drum Circle.
