Dave Barnes at the KCDA Studios on Thursday, June 17th
We had a very quick surprise visit from Dave Barnes this morning at the KCDA Studios. We’ll take any chance to catch live music, even if it interrupts are morning emails as Dave said. Dave Barnes and his buddy Justin Rosolino (who is also a musician) took the stage unplugged. Dave opened up about his music, how he struggles with the whole genre labeling, songwriting, and a lot more. He was very funny and charismatic.
One of the things he mentioned that I won’t forget is that he is recording a Christmas album and Hilary from Lady A might be doing a duet with him! Dave is more singer songwriter pop, but I could see him fit into the country scene. He mentioned that he is writing a lot of country songs (not on purpose), Billy Currington performs one of his songs called “Until You.”
Dave opened up with “God Gave Me” and “Little Lies” which both can be heard on his Myspace! Though seeing him perform them live and stripped down was very cool. He has been writing and singing for a sometime now, and even though an eagle fly’s him his songs he is pretty cool. We wish him luck in finding where they taped the Goonies and hopefully he can come back to Spokane again to play another show!
