Herrick at the KIX 96 Studio Lounge on Tuesday, June 28th
Herrick can play your ears a whole lot of mandolin love and sweep you off your feet with powerful rich harmonies. They have a strong country sound with hints of rock and even a little funk! With four members who each had their own personality, they lit up the KIX 96 Studio Lounge. The band had a lot of energy especially for playing an acoustic set, Donna was dancing and the band was just letting loose. They sounded incredible… I absolutely love the mandolin; it’s not every day you get to hear mandolin based songs.
Herrick played four songs for us including “Walk A Mile In My Shoes,” “Do You Love Me,” “Hangmen Hill,” and “Heaven Don’t Let Me Down.” In between each song they had stories to tell us and were extremely personable. Even after their mini concert they took the time to talk to their fans and even let loose during the photos, jumping up in their fans arms and making silly faces. During their final song “Heaven Don’t Let Me Down,” they managed to get everyone in the entire room to stand up. I really liked all four of the songs they performed for us, there wasn’t one that stood out, they were all that good. Herrick has the ability to play their instruments, write their songs, harmonize, and the nicest personalities that wraps them up like a brown paper package with string. I am definitely looking forward to hearing more from Herrick, especially since Donna and Kerry are both from the area!
