Hunter Hayes on Wednesday, May 11th at the KIX 96 Studio Lounge
I have never heard of or seen someone, until today, who is 19 years old and can play over 30 instruments. Not only does he have the age and instruments under his belt but he wrote all the songs of his upcoming album and he played all of the instruments. Let me introduce you to Hunter Hayes.
Born in Louisiana, he was first introduced to the music scene when he was just an ADORABLE little tike at the young age of 4 and he rocked an accordion during a Hank Williams Jr. concert for 200,000. It is seriously SO CUTE, you are going to die… Click Here to watch the concert. However don’t worry girls he is just as adorable today as he was back then; however now he is making music for a living.
He was actually handpicked by the lovely Taylor Swift to be one of the opening acts on her upcoming tour. You know you are doing something right when Taylor decides she likes you! Back to Hunter here, he acts like he is a lot older then he is but looks a lot younger than 19; kind of funny how that works. He is really sharp and is impressive live. Most artists that come through the KIX 96 Lounge bring a guitar per person; Hunter brought his computer, keys, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, and electric guitar! After playing two songs for us which were “Everybody Got Somebody But Me” and “Wanted” he went on to visually explain to us how he plays all instruments on a track. Right before our eyes he was a one man band and built for us a custom track of his current single “Storm Warning.” He event went to the lengths of bring out a computer and showing a bit of the program he uses to record his music. That was a first the in the KIX 96 Studio Lounge.
While he was performing he was really into the music and he was having a good time. The twenty teenage girls around me were swooning over every blink of his eyes. It was really cool to be able to learn about how Hunter started and for someone to start in music at 4, and be where he is at 19 is stellar. You can see his passion and his talent; He can write, play, and sing… he is the one man band. I know Hunter Hayes is going to be all over every music site by the end of the year, he has the quality and drive. It was pretty awesome to have the opportunity to watch a little mini concert from Hunter. Like Paul said, get your photo girls … you are never going to be able to get this close to him again.
