Nashville Day 1 – LeAnn Rimes performance and Big Machine label Group / CMN Radio Live Party featuring Eli Young Band and Justin Moore

Nashville, Tennessee

I had the opportunity to go to Nashville for the Country Radio Seminar and took every occasion I had to see as many top class country music concerts and showcases as possible.

First off I went to the Palm to see an intimate performance of five new LeAnn Rimes songs. Man does LeAnn look great and sound amazing. I was blown away by how well she can sign! The performance was acoustic with no mics or plugged in guitars for about 30 people. Everyone in the room including myself was impressed by how LeAnn has re-invented herself with her new music. The songs are so grown up and sassy. She has come a long ways since her cover of “Blue” in 1996. We heard songs off her new cover album of songs that were performed by men originally titled “Ladies and Gentlemen” that will be released sometime this year. The Album was produced by Vince Gill. “Crazy Women” and “What Have I Done” were a few of my favorites. LeAnn sang her heart out and showed me just how talented she was…it was Amazing!!! I also learned a new drink from a guy named Adrian called well an Adrian. You take a shot of Patron but instead of using salt and a lime you take it with cinnamon on the rim and an orange slice. It was delicious.

Young Band and Justin Moore. Each band performed a few songs to a packed house. Man was the venue full of people. Eli Young Band was a fun 4 piece from Texas. Justin Moore performed a new song “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away” and his radio smash “Small Town USA”. He sounded great and the crowd loved him. After his performance Taylor Swift took the stage and gave away a prize from a drawing at the event. I was a little bummed she did not perform a song or two. After a long day that included a flight from Spokane to Nashville I decided to call it a night and head back to my hotel room.
