MIA’s tunes stick out like a sore thumb, but a thumb decorated in bright jewels at that. It took me a few times or I guess I should say I had to be in the right mood to “get down” to her new album Maya. It is very fast, loud, intelligent, and without a doubt packs a punch. I love her ability to mix in diverse genres of music and still add her own flair. She is absolutely brilliant and isn’t afraid to march to the beat of her own drum. The girl even put the album out on her own label NEET. She has balls and her music will just keep me surprised, curious, thinking, and dancing.
