Off With Their Heads at the Hop on Wednesday, April 6th
The Hop keeps looking better and better with small new additions each time we go. When we walked into the Hop there was hardly anyone downstairs, and I was kind of worried (like maybe no one showed up) however we walked up the stairs and found the party. There was a pretty decent crowd for a Wednesday night, definitely an older crowd too. After a nice cold adult beverage, the upstairs managed to filter their way down to the floor to catch Epitaph Records’ Off With Their Heads.
I really loved watching the people right against the stage because their fists were up in the air for almost every song and they were loving it. With four members on stage it was a loud fast set that flew by. I wrote down that I swear there was less than 10 seconds between each song. It was a roller coaster of rip-roaring punk rock. Duel vocals, duel guitar, serious shredding. One of the guitar players was playing so fast I couldn’t see his fingers; it was just a blur. The same guitar player was putting all of his energy into the set, jumping around and letting loose. I would say my favorite song of their set was “Drive” because everyone was singing along during “… outta my mind and I’m outta your sight.” They even dedicated a song to T.C. for having such a cool place. Like I mentioned above Off With Their Heads are a roller coaster of punk rock that accompanies beer, fists in the air, and friends perfectly.
