Salvation of Ordinary People by Buffalo Death Beam Album Haiku Review

By Andrea Williams

Album Haiku: Salvation of Ordinary People by Buffalo Death Beam

Pullman’s secret gem.

Hear pages from their own book…

Life through folk music.

Songs we can’t take off repeat; “Look Homeward Angel,” “Lonely Mouth,” and “Motel Queen.”

4 out of 5

I will be honest I haven’t heard of Buffalo Death Beam before! I also have only been to Pullman once and for some odd reason I guess I have missed them when they play in Spokane. I feel like I have missed out on a hidden treasure chest. Seven minds and bodies, 14 ears and hands, Buffalo Death Beam from Pullman, Washington. I am typing in front of a computer listening to this album trying to picture the group intricately performing the 10 songs on the album. I am whisked away by the strings; mandolin, violin, fiddle, guitar, banjo. The harmonies are like sugar with both male and female vocals. I enjoy the emotion in the songs that flirt with the music. You can hear the band’s chemistry. The album is musically warm, I could only imagine what they will be like in concert. Which brings me to this…
