South Perry Street Fair on Saturday, July 17th
I had to work all day so I rushed from Coeur d’Alene at 3:30pm to get home a little after 4 just so we could see Hey is for Horses. I thought we would be fine because normally stages run a little behind but this stage ran early! We only got to hear a few songs from John and Hey is for Horses, however a few is better than none. It was a bummer to hear they lost a member of their band. I still thought they sounded great and it was perfect for the warm breezy afternoon outside of Grant Elementary.
After watching the tail end of Hey is for Horses we went to check out the Perry District. I was on a mission to find the lovely Summer’s new boutique Veda Lux! She is so lucky to had found one of the cutest little buildings in Spokane ever! It is so tiny and darling in every way; with an outdoor changing room on a mini deck, a white picket fenced, and the inside decorated with Sumaria Jewelry, Vintage Dresses, shoes, purses, hair accessories, bridal veils, and so much more! Ladies this is definitely something you are going to want to check out! Located at 1106 South Perry with a hand painted sign you can’t miss done by Miss Tiffany Patterson!
Since the sun was warming us up we decided to grab a beer at South Perry Pizza and even though we weren’t hungry the menu looked absolutely delish with fancy and regular pizzas! Love that they have an open space with outdoor seating. Was totally trying to convince one of the kids working there that it was a perfect venue for outdoor music! I hope that happens later this summer or next summer! All pizza fans, South Perry Pizza is located just down the street from Veda Lux at 1011 South well Perry of course!
We are sad to see La Cha Cha go they are one of the brilliant Spokane bands that even we took for granted a little. The first time this website reviewed them we only heard a few songs and compared the lead singer to looking like Screech from Saved By The Bell. I made a point to see them a few more times and they were fantastic. I was sitting at The Elk one day and asked what CD they were playing because it was really cool. The bartender said it was the new La Cha Cha. I can’t think of an Elkfest without La Cha Cha tearing the stage to shreds in the summer heat. – Matt
They were a great fine tuned indie rock band. This was their second to the last final show… in other words they had their final show afterwards at the Blue Spark. We had to make it a point to catch them this afternoon and I am glad we did. They are a musically tight band that kind of plays with sound and creates their own genre of indie rock. There really isn’t another band like them in Spokane. We wish them luck and I hope they know the Spokane scene will miss their tunes.
