The Stage – Nashville, Tennessee
Man is Sunny Sweeney a firecracker. Holy Shit the girl has great songs, a great voice; she’s very SASSY, and it was a great to see her perform Thursday night. I showed up a little late for Sunny Sweeney’s set but once I got in the very packed venue she was performing a cover of “Folsom Prison Blues” that she dedicated to anyone with a family member in jail. I loved some of her song titles including “Drink Myself Single”, “You Don’t Know Your Husband Like I Do,” “Worn Out Heart,” and the bar sing-along “Everyone Can Kiss My Ass” that she wrote about a boss she had that was a Bitch! Sunny Sweeney’s cover of Waylon’s “Good Hearted Woman” sent chills down the spines of everyone at The Stage. It was incredible. Her band is tight, they sound great and her fiddle player even did a solo with the fiddle behind his head (The crowd ate it up).Her new single “From A Table Away” is on the radio now and you should keep a eye out for Sunny Sweeney to stop by your town. You’ll be in for a great night of country music and drinking. She will knock your socks off! It’s great to see another bad ass in today’s county music.
